Pick single deck (to 150) or double deck (to 500). After each hand, choose who won the bid, then enter the bid, each side's meld and the trick points. The score keeper applies the scoring rules and keeps a running total. It saves the game in your browser, so it survives your phone going to sleep.

How the score keeper scores a hand

  • The bidding side scores its meld plus trick points if they reach the bid. If they don’t, it loses the bid.
  • The other side scores its meld plus trick points if it took at least one trick point. A side with no trick points loses its meld, unless that meld is only nines of trump.
  • Double deck adds the Rule of 20: meld under 20 doesn’t count, a side with fewer than 20 trick points scores nothing, and the bidding side loses its bid if it misses either minimum.
  • Winning: the first side to 150 (or 500 in double deck) wins. If both sides get there on the same hand, the side that bid it wins. A side that falls to -300 (or -1000) loses.

These are the same rules as the free pinochle game on this site. The complete rules explain each one with examples, and the double deck rules cover the Rule of 20.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the pinochle score keeper apply the Rule of 20?

Yes, in double deck mode. Meld under 20 doesn't count, a side with fewer than 20 trick points scores nothing, and the bidding side loses its bid if it misses either minimum.

What if the hand isn't played?

Tick 'Hand not played' when the bid was out of reach (even every trick point couldn't make it) or, in double deck, the bidding side had less than 20 meld. The bidding side loses its bid, and the other side scores its meld.

Is my score saved?

Yes. It's stored in your browser on this device, and nothing is sent anywhere. Press New game to clear it.
